Jeff Green indeed, Planxty is unparalleled. Though oddly enough I mentioned Planxty to fellow trad buff Lucas Gonze and he instead insisted that the friendly rival Bothy Band was the real nuts. Apparently at that time Planxty was not available on Spotify and Bothy Band was not on Google Play. We had discovered the core of Deep Irish Trad independently from separate directions.
Jeff Green thanks I checked it out. this seems atypical of East of Eden's Wings-like prog rock sound. I presume you know Gentle Giant, the hidden gem of British prog rock? As for more traditional sounds of that era, perhaps you also know Silly Wizard?
Balkan Irish trad mashup. Assia Alexandrova , enjoy!
